Visual Art - Portraits
In Art this quarter, we learned so much about drawing portraits. We were first equipped by the theory of portraits, how we first need to make circles and all. We also learned how our face is divided into boxes that make it easier for us to draw portraits. We first asked to draw the portraits of the first president of Indonesia, Soekarno. I think that I didn't do it well because it if my first time drawing a real portrait. After several practices, I then learned and know how to built each element that is on the face; eyes, nose, mouth realistically. We also learn how we should put shadows in significant part of the face to give expression to the face. So our project is to draw the portraits of one of the people we see daily, which could be friend, or family member. We need to draw them for 4 times, which first we are asked to draw the face. The second we were ask to draw the face with an expression. After that, we need to color it with watercolor. The third one is that we need to make the face on a brown paper, and draw another expression. The last one, I chose a watercolor paper which we need to draw the person and ask for them to use clothing that represents them self. After they are all done, we were given a cupboard to compile all of our drawings on them. It is our final. The strength I did in this quarter is to understand and apply the information I got and draw the portraits based on what I have taught. The weakness from this unit is how I rush all the things because I want it to finish early.

This unit relates to Human and Ingenuity as I create a drawing of my friend's face, Dea. The reason why I create this is to know more about the details of one of my closest friend, and that it is more easier for me to draw because my friend's face is already familiar for me. The consequences from this activity is that I learn more things such as the idea of drawing portraits and what are the techniques and skills on how to draw.
The ATL that relates to this organization, collaboration, reflection, and transfer. I organize my time and my notes about drawing portraits so that I am able to draw the portraits. The collaboration that is showing as I do this project is how I contribute and ask other about my drawing, ask about the feedbacks to make my drawing better and know what to improve. Other than that, reflection is also shown where I need to see where are my strength and weakness as I made this artwork, and what should I do more to make it look better. After knowing what needs to be improve, I then should transfer it and apply those in my paintings.
