Science - Plants
In Science this quarter, we learned about Biology. Biology is the study of living organism. We learned mostly about plants, transport in plants, reproduction in flowering plants, and plants structure and function. In this unit, we were asked to dissect a hibiscus flower, which we need to label each part of the flower. Also, we are tested on a plant test. I think that the test was okay, as I almost got all of the questions correct. I got 4 out of 8. The weakness that I made from this test is the last question, which we have to design an experiment to test the ideal conditions for kidney bean germination. We also need to include an objective question, variables, and method. I have listed the 4 germination, which should be water, oxygen, suitable temperature, and PH. But as I want to quickly finish the test, I'm not carefully stated the four germination. Instead, I change the water to light, and use light for the objective question, How could light affect the growth of a bean? From this, I concluded that I should be more thorough while doing the test as I usually do it in a hurry.
How this unit relates to Human and Ingenuity is that the reason why we learn about this is to know what plants reproduce, and how insects like bees helps the pollination process, in which if there were no bees, the plants would not reproduce and will not increasing. The consequences this unit affect to other people is for people to look after the plants, so that there will be no extinction of plants. The ATL that relates to this unit is communication, information literacy, thinking, and transfer. The communication tools that I use in this lesson is how to communicate in the science language, which first we should get to know what are the names in the plants, for example, and what are the function so that we could easily communicate with that. In information literacy, we were accessing the information our teacher gave us, which are the presentations. I can access the information by studying the ppt. In this unit, I think and digest the information so that I would be able to understand. The last but not the least is transfer. I transfer the information I got from my teacher and the ppt, to the test that were given. By that, I could answer all of them correctly.
