Individuals and Societies
In IS this quarter, my friends and I learned about Human Rights, and the two main events that are violating the human rights. The two events are Holocaust and Rwandan Genocide. Holocaust is one of the important events in the history. It is a systematic event that includes the killing of Jewish people; men, women, children, elderly, etc. by the Nazi Germany whose leader is Adolf Hitler. For them, this is their “final solution to the Jewish question” which is the killing in the extermination camps where all of the victims were being killed in the gas chamber that comes out of a shower. There are actually no problems to the Jewish, but one day Hitler came up the idea on how the Jews are trying to dominate the world by their religion. While Rwandan Genocide is the genocidal mass of Tutsi and Hutu in Rwanda. We had a test from this topic, which I got 5 out of 8. I am not satisfied with my score because I think that I should have a better score if I analyse and answer the question deeper. Other than that, we are also asked to summarise one article. Although I don't know the score, I think that I did well.
The relation between this topic with intercultural awareness is that we should not discriminate other people based on their religion, sex, race, etc. We should be able to respect the differences because we are all born equal and free. This helps me raise up my awareness towards other people which is to respect one another.
