Sewing Machine - Apron, Pot Holder
For this quarter in Design Technology class, we created and also learned how to make an apron as well as pot holder. Where first, we did some research about different kind of fabric, and what it mostly used for. We also did a research about different kind of pot holder, and analyze them by their attractiveness, aesthetics, the cost, and many other things. After concluding all the things, Ibu Lisa taught us about how to use the sewing machine, which we started to sew on a piece of cloth and learn how to stir and turn the thread if there are sides. We make the apron first, where we have to have the patterns for the body of the apron, the 4 straps, and a pocket. I feel very enthusiast while making this apron because this is the first time of me making things with a sewing machine. But however, sometimes it makes me angry and lazy at the same time if the thread was always going to get off their ways to the needle. I think that Design Technology categorize as risk takers because I think that using a sewing machine is not as easy as it looks, and if we do a wrong move, we could possibly get the needles in our fingers. I also “approach unfamiliar situations, as it was the first time I used a sewing machine. I also is independent as I finished the apron myself.
Below is the picture of my apron and also pot holder. I think that I did best in making the apron, because even though it was the first time I made it using a sewing machine, I could finished it on time and get all the things together, and it is an apron!
