Following the timeline to keep track on my tasks that I need to do, I actually is late because I started to experiments each method on the second week. I should've started the experiment of the methods since the first week of september, but I was still waiting for the response from the expert of the flower artist. Only one out of three responded. So in this experiment-method-week, I started to do the methods of preserving flowers that I have compiled, which you can see here. So with enough research of each method, I applied those information as it helps me to do the experiment.
This is the first method that I did, which is pressing. I think that it is the easiest method out of others, because I would just arrange the flowers and close the thick unglazed paper book. So as I have the roses. According to my research, I should not be stack the flower petals together and I have to make sure that the petals aren't folded. I will have to wait for for 1-2 weeks, with the result of flat flower petals.
The second method that I experimented is using the silica gel. Based on the research and all of the videos I've watched on youtube, there are several steps that I followed. The first one is to take a container, and put the silica gel on the base of the container. Then, put one flower with cut stem (it still has stem, but short), on the silica gel, and with a spoon, I need to gently put another silica gel on the side of the flower and inside the flower, so that each petals is covered in the silica gel. This should be done gently so that the flower will stay the same and not damaged caused by the heavy silica gel compares to the light, soft, rose petals. After I am done, I should be closing the container tightly, so that the result would satisfy me. According to the videos I've watched, I should wait for it until 1 week.
